#featurerequest: Shadow Effect on Columns

Hi All, Here is a #featurerequest for #strips and #columns. It would be awesome to create more depth by adding a shadow effect to columns.

Below is an example I created using a non-responsive workaround.

I am aware of the existing workarounds that include

  1. checking “enable shadow” on shape and vector elements

  2. using a line and customizing its design to the shadow preset

  3. uploading my own transparent shadow PNG and placing it behind the column (what I’ve done in the attached screenshot)

None of these are responsive to allow predictable placement of the shadow on varying screen sizes. So it would be awesome to apply the shadow directly to the column!

Thanks for reading!

I want this. I’m having to use the line that gives a shadow effect on top of and below strips. But it’s always difficult to get that shadow line place perfectly and have it layered right. It would be great to have the option to put the shadow on strips and/or on columns. I understand it may be difficult to have a shadow on one column be shadowed and figure out how it interacts with color or shadow or elements in neighboring column. But we need this.

Hi Tina, I’m working on a list of features that I’ll be sharing with our product managers. I’ve added this one to the list.

Agreed.
