BETA Unlocked: Standalone Forms

In this beta, we have unlocked a new form builder that lets you create forms via your site’s business manager with seamless sharing capability. Additionally, these forms are not on your site. Instead, they’re in an external link.

How can we access the standalone form?

Simply go to your sites dashboard and follow the steps below:

  1. Click on Customer Management .
  2. Select Form Submissions .
  3. Click on New Form .
  4. Choose Standalone Form .

@rinatkl what about automations and Velo integration? Will we be able to react to new submission like other Wix form?

Apparently we can. Just tested this new feature with the wixCrm_onFormSubmit backend event, and it fired perfectly :+1:t4:.

Thanks for this amazing new feature. Some feedback right away:

  1. Amazingly simple to get started

  2. Rearranging is fun!

  3. Love that these exist outside of an individual site

  4. Enjoy that it writes to database, so we can use with Dynamic Pages

  5. So happy we can use with Wix Ascend Automations

  6. Thank you for NOT counting this against our total site forms number (please keep this way)

Some ideas to add-in:

  1. Allow user to set url slug and/or relate to site or Wix account name

  2. Enable conditional formatting, so that we can build even more amazing forms.

  3. It’s SO EASY to create a form here, that I’d love to see us “Save as Template” so that we can quickly add to our website from a “My Saved Forms” on the Editor

  4. Any possibilities for Dynamic Text, like when sending from Wix Ascend’s Email Marketing?

  5. Add more form field types, like File Upload, Date Picker, Image Options, etc.

  6. Allow for customizing of the design, similar to Email Marketing & Social Posts editor

  7. Add Image and Description fields for us to explain parts of the form

  8. Add Sections / Page Numbers / or one-at-a-time Typeform-esque style delivery.

the form is not saved, although I did not change anything. does not allow you to go further

Some of your ideas are already a work in progress/in our plans & I hope that they will be available soon :slight_smile: As for the rest (2, 3, 4, 8) I have added them to our feature request list. Great suggestions here from Matt- Also would like to be able to save the template to use over on other sites. Should there be a re-captcha field to prevent spam? Most forms I use also like to have an upload option (I’m thinking employment forms to upload the resume.) Thank you.

@mattcici I would add multi step possibilities to this list, as it is already possible with the classical Wix Forms

Are you able to pass details already known about the visitor to the form via hidden fields?

For example, can we move from using Typeform where we have hidden fields in the URL which contain the clients name (and other info) which is then presented in the form to garner a higher form completion %.

EXAMPLE:
This typeform has moved firstname=xxxxx&lastname=xxxxx

If this question is in the wrong place, could you please point me to where to ask this.
