[Important Update] Wix "Old Online Store" Will Be Retired

Since 2015, Wix has an eCommerce solution called Wix Stores . Previously, Wix offered a solution which we refer to as our Old Online Store .

Changes to the Old Online Store

On October 15, 2020, the old version of the online store will be removed from Wix site(s). This means that:

  • Stores using the Old Online Store app will no longer be displayed on your live site.

  • You won’t have access to store data connected to the Old Online Store, nor will Wix.

  • You can save your product and order data from your Old Online Store(s) before October 15, 2020. Learn How

Important: New Wix Stores are not affected by this change.

Only users with an Old Online Store received an email about this. No sites created since January 2016 have the Old Online Store. If your site was created prior to 2016, check which eCommerce solution it has.

I’ve got a question for Wix.

Why such a sudden change? Why decommissioning a critical app with a 1-month notice during the holidays

Site owners need to organize the migration & site designer need to manage the migration for several clients at once. Even if it’s easy, this takes time to organize such change and it can gravely impact one’s business.

ps: I’m glad to see that the deadline has been postponed! None the less you need to think a bit more about your user IMHO

This particular iteration of Stores is largely unused (as most have been using the new Wix Stores for some time now), but I totally get what you’re saying. Thanks for sharing your feedback with us :slight_smile:
