I have a customer wishing to transition their website from WP to WIX. They have about 20,000 customers and a long-line of historical orders for these customers. Customers that have purchased their products also receive free updates for the digital products they have purchased.
My questions are;
Can we import their historical orders from an external source and have them appear in their new account with WIX under the members area?
It says that after 30-days the digital goods link expires, what does that mean for the customer and their historical orders? Will they not be able to access that link anymore?
Any suggestions on the best way to migrate a larger-client to wix?
Hey Sam! I’m Randy and I’ll be answering some of the questions you had pertaining to orders and products.
At the moment, it is not possible to import orders, it’s only possible to import products to Wix Stores. I will be forwarding this feedback to our team though.
As for the digital product link expiration, the download link is available for 30 days. After 30 days, it will no longer work.
You can, however, resend a file to a customer as many times as you wish. Simply click on the order in the Orders tab and click Send Links to Download. Additionally, you can also send a link to download on your mobile phone using the Wix Mobile App.

Another question on this - when the product updates are available for a digital goods product, will the system automatically send the updates to customers that have ordered the product from the wix system?
Hi Sam, the ability to send automatic updates for digital products purchased in Wix Stores is not yet available. I will forward this feedback to the team.

As a follow-on question:
If a digital product is UPDATED - how does it impact customers that already purchased the digital product after the update occurs?
Example -
Customer buys digital product and receives their download link
A few months later we update the digital product with an extra file 3) If we click RESEND LINK to the customer, will they now receive the updated file?
My client is likes to provide the updates for free, and needs to be able to update the product and resend to all the people that purchased, for life so I need to understand how to handle this part of the project should we win it over to wix.
