Does anyone else notice something going on with Wix.com since Thursday? There has been no tech support and no one is responding to emails. My client’s website is down and the host won’t release their domain so wix can transfer it. It is a .com, so this is frustrating and I am not getting anyone with Wix. Help?!
I can’t say I have had any issues this week, and I even got an email reply back from the Arena team concerning something related to my portfolio. You should be able to use the domain connection wizard. Then you would produce the name server info needed to put into your clients domain provider account (eg GoDaddy, BluHost, etc)
@celestialpainter Thanks for replying. If Wix is emailing me, I would not know. The domain provider erased all our name server codes and now will not let me into the advanced DNS settings for the domain. Tried submitting several support tickets, but if our email server is also offline with the domain, they have no way to contact me. My company (separate account) is no longer the owner of the website, I transferred ownership to the school email. Ugh, so Wix is not responding to either email account. They keep saying Tech Support, Chat and Calls are not available right now. #techsupportwix
AMAZING! So, I remembered I got a free domain when I signed the school up with Wix.com, it is onlinecsy.org. So, I removed the assignment from csyonline.com, then assigned the new website to onlinecsy.org. Click, and BOOM! We are back online in a flash! CHEERS!
Then, once I did that I removed the csyonline.com from the account. Went into the Networks Solutions DNS and moved the name servers back to them from Wix. Once that connected, I was able to edit the A, Cname and MX records back to where we were before I tried to transfer the domain. Now, I still needed to point the traffic to onlinecsy.org, so I pointed csyonline.com to the .org for now. I was also able to add csyonline.com back to the account and change the DNS records there too. This way, when the transfer happens, (if and when that does happen), we are all clear and both domains point to the new beautiful school website we designed. This is a far cry from writing Java and FTP, and I am so happy I found Wix. It is my passion now and just makes me happy when my clients see the amazing designs I can do with them and I leave the code up to those with higher intelligence.
