Wix Data gives you powerful data storage and retrieval capabilities, as well as the ability to create and maintain your own data collections. But what if you already have your own database, or you want to host your data on a relational database? With External Database Collections, you can use your BigQuery database hosted on Google Cloud Platform and fully integrate it into your Wix site. You can use any of the wix-data and wix-dataset APIs with External Database Collections, as well as connect repeaters, tables, and other page elements to your BigQuery data. This tutorial walks you through setting up a BigQuery database on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and connecting it to your Wix site. Check it out here: "Integrate Your Google Cloud BigQuery Database with your Wix Site".

The Velo Code Editor supports JSDoc, a popular markup language used to document JavaScript code. The Code Editor uses JSDoc to generate type checking and code autocomplete. Adding this annotation to your custom code allows you to benefit from these features. This can help you keep your code error-free throughout your site and is especially useful in large or complex projects. Learn how to use JSDoc in the Code Editor here: https://support.wix.com/en/article/velo-using-jsdoc

Wix places quotas on data requests made by your site. These quotas affect the processing time and volume of requests that sites can make, as well as the overall collection storage a site can have. Data quotas apply to anything making data requests on your site, including the Content Manager, Datasets, Wix Forms, and Velo's Wix Data API. This article focuses on how these quotas work when using Velo. Check it out here: https://support.wix.com/en/article/velo-about-data-quotas To learn about backend request quotas, see this article: https://support.wix.com/en/article/velo-about-backend-quotas

The Velo Forum is a space for you to have technical conversations, share examples and tutorials, and get assistance with coding questions. If you think you’ve encountered a bug while working in Velo, there are a few ways you can report it to the Velo team. If you don't have Dev Mode enabled, please contact Wix Customer Care. To reach the Velo Product Support team directly, start here. Then select Editor, Editor X, ADI & Live Sites, and then Velo. To report the bug within the Wix Editor, go to the Velo Help menu, click “Give Velo Feedback”, and then click “Send bug report”. When reaching out to the Velo Product Support team by following a flow described above, a ticket is automatically created in our system. Make sure you are logged in to the account in question before submitting a ticket. This way, you will receive a reply to an email address associated with your Wix account. All requests related to Velo are currently handled via email. This allows our Experts to thoroughly troubleshoot the issue and provide a detailed solution. In order for us to be able to investigate your request, please provide as much of the following information as possible: The site name The site URL (if published) The page name in Editor where the issue is occurring The page URL (if published) The element(s) which you are having trouble with The problematic part of the code A detailed description of the issue The desired vs. expected behavior A screenshot (or a screencast) of the issue Thank you for your patience as we work towards replying to your request!

When you write backend code in Velo, you may encounter some limitations. These limitations protect Wix's resources from abuse, whether from malicious users or bad code. They ensure that Wix servers aren't overwhelmed, and that all users can get the resources they need for their sites. The backend limitations apply when you make requests to your backend code, including the following: Wix-data queries from your frontend code Backend requests (web modules) from your frontend code Loading dynamic pages Router hooks Calling HTTP functions Requests per minute (RPM) Wix allows you to make up to 7,000 backend requests per minute (RPM) on premium sites, and 5,000 requests on free sites. If your site exceeds the limit, any additional requests within a 1-minute window will be blocked and you'll receive a 429 error code. Time Wix allows your web modules called from the frontend, HTTP functions, and router hooks to run for up to 14 seconds. This limitation applies to both free and premium sites. Any of these methods that take longer than 14 seconds will receive a 504 status code. To learn more, including what you can do when encountering these limitations, check out this article: https://support.wix.com/en/article/velo-about-backend-limitations
